Our work has profound, long-term significance. By helping People of Color re-establish their connection with nature and the earth, we nurture both personal and collective well-being while contributing to the health of the planet.
As a grassroots 501(c)(3) organization, we advance our mission through four key Pillars of Impact: Cultivating Leaders, Changing Perceptions, Building Skills & Confidence, and Collaborating Toward Change. While our reach spans the nation, our work focuses in North Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, South Carolina, Florida, and Virginia, creating change across the Southeast.
At Color My Outdoors, we are committed to advancing equity through diverse leadership and stewardship, creating safe and inclusive spaces, amplifying authentic stories, and removing barriers for People of Color in outdoor spaces.
By fostering partnerships with mission-aligned organizations, promoting representation in decision-making, engaging in restorative justice conversations, and using inclusive language, we strive to challenge stereotypes and reshape the narrative of the outdoors. Together, we envision a future where nature is a space of belonging, empowerment, and joy for all.
If you’re already rolling up your sleeves for the hard work of inclusion — and you believe in true collaboration, not just checking a box — we’d love to connect with you. Let's build something meaningful, together.
Let's create a future of curious and courageous outdoor leaders. By giving only $25 a month in 2025, we can fuel a movement that equips the next generation of environmental influencers.
