Storytelling is central to our mission. It’s how we elevate People of Color as the heroes of their own outdoor adventures. For too long, the outdoors has been framed around one narrow narrative—one that often excludes our communities. At Color My Outdoors, we’re taking ownership of our stories. They connect us, inspire us, and rewrite what it means to belong in nature. And we want to hear yours.
Our storytelling initiatives bridge the past and present, creating space for Black and Brown people to see themselves in nature. If you are a Person of Color (i.e. photographer, videographer, writer, illustrator) or you have a story to tell, submit your truths so we can share your nature narrative with our online audiences.
